What is a minibang?
A minibang is a fandom event meant to promote the collaboration between writers, artists, and fans. During a minibang, writers will write fanfiction (with a minimum word count of 1000), and artists will create accompanying artwork for each piece. Once everyone has completed their part, all fanwork will be released during a set posting period to create an explosion—or "bang"—of new fandom content!

What is this minibang about?
This Minibang is centered around the relationship between Jujutsu Kaisen characters Inumaki Toge and Okkotsu Yuuta, often referred to as "Inuokko" or "Ottoge."

How does a minibang work?
Writers will submit a summary of the idea they wish to write about, including relevant tags (e.g. angst, fluff, mutual pining, alternate universe, hurt/comfort, etc.) and background characters—all of which will be recorded in a prompt list where the writer remains anonymous.

Artists will then select from the anonymous list three (3) prompts of their choosing, in order of preference, that they wish to create accompanying artwork for. This is done on a first-come, first-serve basis, so artists will be given priority accordingly.

Mods will then assign writer-artist partners based on artists’ choices. Before partners are assigned, writers should not reveal the prompts they submitted. Doing so is in violation of the spirit of a minibang, and mods will ask you to submit a new prompt if this happens. Once partners are assigned, the collaboration period begins! Writers and artists will be sent their assignments by email, and will work together to produce fanfiction and accompanying artwork(s) to post on the desired date. This date will be decided towards the end of the creation period.

Content will then be posted at the designated time for the fandom to enjoy! Any updates and schedule notifications will be done via our social media channels, so please follow to stay in the loop!

What are everyone’s roles?
Writers will anonymously submit summaries of their stories, and once they are paired with an artist, can begin the 3-month period of writing and preparing their story for posting.Artists will be paired with preferred writers based on their prompts, and collaborate with them to create an accompanying piece to the fanfiction. All kinds of art—digital and traditional—are welcome!Beta readers will assist writers in looking over and editing their work, and may offer suggestions for grammar, characterization, plot, etc. Betas are not required for writers, though are recommended.Pinch-hitters are those that act as a substitute when someone drops out. They can be an existing participant or an external writer or artist.Mods are in-charge of making sure the minibang runs smoothly. We want to make sure you’re having fun and collaborating effectively, and are here for any questions or needs. Please do not be afraid to reach out!Book club members are all of our followers! By following us, you are making a pledge to provide your support during and after posting dates by reading, liking, retweeting, and commenting on ALL the fanfiction and fanart. This is to ensure that not a single piece will be missed and that everyone’s work will be seen, so let's give our creators some love together!

Who can participate?
This event is open to anyone! There is no minimum skill requirement for artists and writers. You can also sign up for multiple roles—please submit a separate form for each.

What kind of prompts can I submit?
Feel free to write about anything you'd like! That being said, we would like writers to bring new ideas and stories to the fandom, so we discourage you from using preexisting prompts that have already been shared and published. In the sign-up form, you may leave the prompt section with TBA if you are struggling to come up with ideas—until the form closes, you will be allowed to edit and update whenever you want.

As of now, please note that our minibang is SFW, but we will make the final call after interest checks.

What is a “progress check-in” and what are the requirements for each?
A progress check-in is when the moderators contact all participants to check on their progress for the existing WIP. This is to ensure that nobody is left without a partner, and there will be content to post.

For Check-In #1, writers will be asked to submit an outline of their story from start to finish, with a rough estimation of their final word count. Artists will be requested for a simple sketch of what they wish to illustrate for the accompanying fic.For Check-In #2, writers should be 30-50% complete with their stories (mods will determine this from the outline submitted in check-in #1). Artists will ideally have their line art complete. This is also the last chance to drop out if you feel that you are unable to finish your part in time for the final deadline. For Check-In #3, writers should have their stories 50-70% complete, while from artists we would like to see flat color and slight rendering (where applicable).
There will be an additional check-in 1-3 days before the group’s posting date.

What will happen if I am unable to finish my piece?
We understand that things in life can happen unexpectedly, and that’s totally okay! During each progress check-in, we will be offering the opportunity to drop out if you no longer feel confident that you can complete your piece on time. We do have a strict deadline to drop out, and we ask that all participants adhere to it, as it can be difficult to find a pinch-hitter who can create a piece within a limited time frame.

If you have any additional questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to submit them to our CuriousCat!
